MAKE is an interdisciplinary interior design and research studio founded on innovation, integrity and the ambition to forge new paths by challenging the traditional understanding of design and environments and how they influence our experiences. Specializing in interior design, concept architecture, design strategy and branded environments, we are passionate about quality, form and materials - human experience is foundational to all our work.
Established in 2011 by Andrea Freeman and Dorian Zubko, our studio is made up of a team of interior and industrial designers, architects, technologists, project managers and strategists all with a shared focus on originality and attention to detail throughout the design process. This focus and diversity allows us uncover the unique potential of every project, delivering inspired work that is relevant and distinctive for each of our clients.
WE BLUR TRADITIONAL LINES. Drawing on the best from multiple disciplines, each of our designs are unique to the Client, and are developed to reflect their distinct culture, brand and business. We design to create what matters and the places people want to be. While we have built our reputation designing next generation work space, each of our services have evolved out of the talents of our interdisciplinary team and the desire to establish MAKE as a non-traditional design firm.
WE DESIGN FOR THE REAL WORLD. Thoughtful design is anchored on the dynamic integration of function and user experience rather than conforming to a prescribed style. Equally important is attention to detail and the ability to deliver value and manage the project budget and schedule. For us that means communication and transparency throughout the project to ensure the project team is aligned and there are no surprises along the way.
ENTREPRENEURS, LANDLORDS, BROKERS, RETAILERS & HOSPITALITY GROUPS. Our projects are not distinguished by size or industry and have ranged from multi-floor building renovations and tenant fit-outs to small retail kiosks. We've partnered with international technology companies, law and financial service providers, educational institutions, as well as retailers, restauranteurs and medical practitioners. Ultimately our clients have one thing in common - The desire to distinguish themselves from the competition.
WE COLLABORATE & COMMUNICATE. We believe in engaging you as part of the process and maintaining ongoing dialogue and reviews to make sure everything is going according to plan and your expectations are understood. We believe in defining the deliverables and managing the process so you know what to expect and if there are changes required, we make sure you are the first to know. We are also sticklers for time, if we have deadlines, we need to meet them.
DESIGN EXCELLENCE. Good design is the result of a deliberate process - Discover & Define informs our work; Develop & Deliver shapes it into something unique and lasting.
HUMAN EXPERIENCE. While many of our daily interactions are digital, our most meaningful experiences are analog. We believe the measure of project success is the quality of the human experience.
COLLABORATION. As an interdisciplinary team we maintain a collaborative, no-silo approach to each of our projects. We believe in the quality of ideas over the hierarchy of discipline or title.
RESEARCH-BASED. We have established a studio culture and working methodology that is driven by ongoing research, knowledge and understanding. We do not subscribe to boundaries.
INDUSTRY KNOWLEDGE. As trusted advisors and industry leaders, our team is committed to staying up to date with technical knowledge and industry best practices, as well as regional permitting and code requirements.
IT'S WORTHY TO STRIVE FOR GREATNESS. Embrace and drive change; Be adventurous, curious and open-minded; Pursue growth and learning; Building open honest relationships; Be humble and kind; Be good to people, animals and the planet.
